Guano Be Gone – 1 Litre Concentrate (makes 150 Litres)

Safe: Guano-Be-Gone is safe for you, safe for your animals, and safe for the birds. Guano-Be-Gone is not a dangerous chemical, even in concentrated form. Studies have shown there are no harmful long term effects from exposure to the active ingredients, to humans, aquatic life, or other mammals.  This means it is safe to use, will not damage lifestock, or harm endangered birds.  It’s a win/win/win.

Ease of Use: Guano-Be-Gone just needs to be sprayed. It will go through any knapsack or other spray unit without damaging it. From small pump up garden sprayers to industrial spraying units. If it comes into contact with skin it will only cause mild irritation, and if ingested the worst effect is the continual taste in one’s mouth.  Just spray every 3-4 weeks for easy bird free areas.

Range of Surfaces: Guano-Be-Gone can be used on a range of surfaces, from concrete, to wood, to steel, without damaging the surfaces. It is safe enough to spray under the bonnets of tractors, up in rafters, in outside trees, and around crops.

Inside & Outside Use – Guano-Be-Gone can be used both inside and outside, and will be effective in both locations. If spraying outside on concrete expect it to last 3 weeks per application. In an open air shed (such as a dairy) expect 4 weeks per application. In a totally enclosed area (such as an enclosed attic) expect 6 weeks per application. Because Guano Be Gone works on smell and will soak into surfaces it can be used effectively on external and internal surfaces.

This 1 Litre of concentrate makes 150 Litres of ready to use spray! That is a 50% saving over buying the ready to use!

How does it Work:

Bird’s smell along a different spectrum than humans (like they perceive light differently). The smell is nasty to birds, and they avoid it.   Customers say Guano-Be-Gone smells like liquorish, or grapes, and is barely noticeable.

For best results we recommend the following:

1)      Spray the area before the start of nesting season. Start spraying in June and repeat every 3-4 weeks. This way you are preventing the nesting from happening and deterring birds before they take up residence.

2)      Spray a large area around the nest. If you have one corner of your shed where the birds nest, spray all of the rafters. Spraying one area usually causes birds to migrate from one part of a shed to another. Also birds sense of smell is amazing, from a single position within a shed they can smell the entire area, and if 90% smells fine and only 10% is offensive, they may decide to ignore the smell.

3)      Realise that every bird is different. Some clients say they spray day 1, and on day 2 there are no birds around. Most clients however say it takes the neighborhood birds about 6 weeks to fully learn to avoid the area. Their bird numbers dwindle until there are none coming around.  This means that it is during the second application Guano-Be-Gone shows its true potential.

4)      Absolutely remember to respray. Spraying will be a monthly job. Put it in your calendar.

What birds does it work on:

Guano-Be-Gone is particularly effective on pigeons. It is also effective on swallows, blackbirds, miners, fantails, and more.

It is not effective on birds with no sense of smell, this is chickens, and pukeko’s.
